Magna Carta Exhibit: Final Week
 Ends Friday, Oct 23

Magna Carta: Enduring Legacy, 1215-2015 opened last Monday and drew 1,000 visitors by noon, Friday. The exhibit, at the Duane Meyer Library at Missouri State University is a big hit with all ages. Even the event signage is a treat, featuring local artist interpretations of thirteenth century barons. Students visiting the exhibit expressed their reasons why #RuleOfLawRocks with our #MagnaCartaOnFleek social media contest, with daily winners receiving free movie passes to the Moxie Cinema, and a grand prize winner will receive a $100 gift cart. Supreme Court Historical Society
Dinner in Springfield, Thursday
The Missouri Supreme Court Historical Society will be hosting its annual dinner Thursday, October 22, 2015, 7-8:30 at the Tower Club. The dinner is usually limited to members of the society, but tickets are being made available for purchase by SMBA members. James Silkenat, past president of the American Bar Assn. will deliver the dinner address on the topic "Magna Carta Exposed: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly." ( more information)
