TONIGHT'S SOCCER GAME - TIME CHANGE 

The time for tonight's soccer game has been changed.  Game will begin at 6:00PM. It is still at the Indoor Soccer Zone - 3265 Broadway Blvd, Garland 75043.  Please arrive 20 minutes before game time.

Volleyball and Flag Football 

The volleyball season has come to an end.  We are proud of both teams for making it to the playoffs.  The flag football playoff game will be Wednesday at Akiba at 5PM. Go Cougars!

FRIDAY AFTERCARE AND CAMPUS CLOSING TIME
Aftercare and the campus will be closing at 4:30PM this Friday. Beginning in November, the Friday closing time will change to 3:30PM.  For a full schedule of closing times, click here.
JCC Offers Akiba Parents "Day Camp" When Akiba is Closed
The J is trying to provide programs this year on all of the days that Akiba is out of school. Children in grades K-6 grade can come to the J for a day of games, sports, art, swimming and more! The first day coming up is for the Teacher In-Service Day on November 9. Cost per day is $55 for JCC Members and $65 for JCC Non-Members. There must be a minimum of 8 registrants for the program to happen. To register please contact Abbi Cook at  [email protected]. Hours are 9-4 with before and after-care available from 7:30-6:00.
Blue and White for Israel
Tomorrow, Wednesday October 28th, all Akiba students are encouraged to wear blue and white in support and solidarity with Israel.  Your child may wear their blue and white uniform or a dress code compliant blue and white outfit. Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School are encouraged to come together to support Israel! 
Shabbaton for Middle School
The proposed Shabbaton for November 6th has been postponed.  It will be rescheduled and a date will be communicated.
DONATION DRIVE
The PTO Mitzvah of the Month is a book drive for the Tycher Library book distribution to needy children in K-2nd grade.  Please drop off gently used reading books (K-2) at the security desk or your child can give the books to their teacher.

PRESCHOOL SHABBAT  
 
This Friday all Nevatim and Teenoki families are invited to attend the Early Childhood Shabbat hosted by Morah Jennifer, Morah Liat, and Morah Veronica's Teenoki class. Preschool Hospitality for moms and dads will be hosted in the Preschool Atrium from 8:30-9:00 a.m. Please meet your child in Hanna's Room at 9:00 AM.

  • November 11: Woman's Program "Art and Soul" in the boardroom at 11AM. (More information will follow) 
  • November 11: Akiba Talks (Educational Topics addressed by Tammie Rapps) in the boardroom at 7:30PM
2016-17 ENROLLMENT NOTICE
 
Enrollment for the 2016-17 school year is just around the corner. We look forward to another year of serving the educational needs of your family!
 
Listed below are some changes to the Enrollment Contract we want you to be aware of for the upcoming 2016-17 school year:
 
1)      There will be three payment options available:

a.       10-months - August 2016 through May 2017

b.      12-months - June 2016 through May 2017

c.       Full Pay - June 2016

 

2)      The full enrollment deposit will be due at the time of enrollment. The online submission of your contract will not process without the accompanying payment.
 
3)      Regardless of which payment option is chosen, all families will need to provide banking information to cover incidentals as they come up throughout the year (testing, aftercare, etc.).
 
Please plan for these changes now. Enrollment begins in January!
