JIA seeking public input on reevaluation of Beach Village plan
Dear Jekyll friends,

Do you have an opinion regarding further development of Jekyll's Beach Village? If so, there's now an opportunity to make your views known as part of the JIA's reassessment of its plans for the Beach Village parcel adjacent to the Westin hotel, which previously had been designated for a 135-room, limited service hotel. As stated by the JIA, "while there remains a need for additional lodging options on Jekyll Island, the opening of the Beach Village and the Westin hotel has prompted the JIA to reassess the Beach Village site plan to ensure the best utilization of this parcel."
  • If you think the parcel should be used for a hotel, please indicate the type of hotel you would prefer: affordability/range of room rates; building height/number of stories; size/approximate number of rooms.
  • If you think the site should be used for something other than a hotel, please specify why and suggest some options in that regard.
  • If you have an opinion about any aspect of the Beach Village itself (overall appearance, components, beach access, etc.), please feel free to share that too.
To express your views, write to JIA Executive Director Jones Hooks at [email protected]

Emailed comments from the public will be accepted until November 5th.

If you care about Jekyll, please take advantage of this opportunity to make your views known on the issues at hand.

Please let us know if you submit a comment so we can gauge the level of public interest in this issue.
Sincerely,
David and Mindy Egan, Co-directors IPJI
