Pastor Johnson's 2015 year-end report was distributed on December 28, 2015. If you did not receive a copy, Sis Rose Armstrong can provide one for you.

1. Our 2016 THEME is: Experience God. From our salvation experience, we are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17-21). This year, let's "Experience God" is "new" ways that will catapult us to higher heights and a greater urgency to growth toward spiritual maturity. Our foundational Scripture is: 2 Peter 1:3-10.

2. Well done to our members and friends for completing your SPIRITUAL GIFTS ASSESSMENTS. You are a step closer to understanding your specific gift(s) that the Lord has given you to fulfill your purpose on earth as well as His plan for your life. Pastor Johnson has already discussed with most members the results and what it means in your personal and ministry life. Here are the church-wide results:

#1 Gift: Serving
#2 Gift: Pastoring/Shepherding
#3 Gift: Administration

2. Congratulations again to all of our 2015 awardees at our annual Volunteer Appreciation and Awards luncheon on Dec 5th. Our partner restaurant, Darrah's Cafe, provided a wonderful buffet meal and it was so good to see so many of our members, family and friends in attendance.

3. Our construction project is virtually completed - just awaiting the final installation of the mirrors, changing tables and paper towel dispensers. Both bathrooms are open and operational. Well done to our contractor: Classic Design & Build. They were a great partner for our church and did a phenomenal job. They were very easy to work with too!!

One last item to mention. This year, our church will have to upgrade our electrical system from 200 amps to 400 amps, per Prince George's County, Maryland, code for 2016. Wiring will have to be run underground (not from the telephone poles) and we will bear this expense. More to come...

4. Our Christmas Eve service on December 24th was well attended by all and we received a dynamic preached Word by Reverend Andy Johnson. The First Family again thanks the members for the wonderful gifts of love that were presented during the service. Thank you!!

5. Registrations are open for the 2016 WINTER Semester of the Bible & Leadership Institute. We have expanded our course offerings to include Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm and added two additional instructors: Bro. Ben Snyder and Minister Sam Johnson.  This semester, we introduce our on-line component so that our students can study from home as needed. This will provide added conveniences to those students that cannot physically come to classes that are held at the chuch. Get involved...tuition is only $25.00.

Visit the church website for full details.

a.  Storm water preservation grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust ($87,000) - was approved for $75,000. Minister Sam Johnson and Pastor Johnson have the lead. Members from the team will be one of our church services this month for a 10 minute presentation to answer any questions from the membership.

b.  Following our October 25th service, our church was approached by Compassion Power to serve as a host church for their parenting and Core Value Workshop classes on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. A proposal has been submitted and the Board of Trustees has presented a counter-offer. If we can agree, their workshops will begin in February 2016 as welcome approximately 15-30 families per workshop. More to come...
