5 GUNSHOTS, 1 FIREBOMB

Assessing the Loss
 Five gunshots on Nov. 14, 2014 were followed by one firebomb on Friday Dec. 11, 2015. The target was the  Islamic Society of Coachella Valley . The 2014 shooter remains at large. The Dec. 11, 2015 arson resulted in the arrest of 23-year-old, Carl James Dial. Half of the Mosque is was burned, and was declared totally unusable. Worshipers continue to pray on the sidewalk. Sunday school will resume classes at an alternate rental facility. Parents and children remain traumatized, but committed to rebuild the Mosque better than before it was destroyed.  


The Shura Council has launched a campaign to raise $100,000 for the Islamic Society of Coachella Valley, as their insurance coverage was limited. All contributions are tax deductible. Please contribute and ask others in your network to do the same. Also share on social media.

Anti-Islam hate monger charged in a plot to bomb Muslims and a professor is suspended for saying Muslims and Christians worship One God. The United States Congress  passes a resolution condemning violence, bigotry and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in America .

The U.S. Council of Mosques and Organizations (USCMO) announces a nationwide Open Mosque Day in 2016. Details will follow soon. 

Access California Services announces three positions opening for AmeriCorps VISTA members. Each position requires a 1-year commitment beginning in Feb. 2016.  Click here for details.
