Special Panel Implementation Office Created
Last month, the Board of Commissioners endorsed in concept the recommendations of the Special Panel on the Future of the Port Authority appointed last year by Governor Chris Christie and Governor Andrew Cuomo. The Board also directed the creation of a "Special Panel Implementation Office" within the agency to coordinate the implementation process across various PA departments.

On March 17, the Port Authority announced the creation of the Special Panel Implementation Office.  With respect to some of the Panel's suggestions, such as the preparation of an updated Code of Conduct, implementation will be completed within the coming year.  With respect to longer-term initiatives, such as the redevelopment of facilities, the focus of the work teams will be on creating focused implementation processes, including appropriate metrics and milestones, to ensure that these projects continue to receive appropriate priority in the months and years to come.

In order to coordinate this process, Nicole Crifo, Senior Advisor to the Chairman, will lead the Special Panel Implementation Office.  Ms. Crifo outlined the work of the office in a presentation during the Board's March 19 meeting.
