Darker blue cloth spine with paper label and lighter blue cloth boards with paper label. Inside pages in very good condition as is the book generally.
With inscription to A.C. McGeachy Dated Geneva 22/9/34.and handwritten unsigned on Indian Delegation to the Assembly of the League of Nations note  inserted circa 1934. Sir Denys de Saumarez Bray, was an etymologist and Secretary of the Foreign Department of the Government of India. Bray's later work on Shakespeare re-arranged the much disputed argument on the basis of the discovery of a hitherto unexpected rhyme-link or word-link, joining sonnet to sonnet to form an orderly and smoothly flowing whole....

This 5 x 6.5 inch engraved view by is the renowned Hermann Meyer. Condition is VG with light browning along the outer edges of the margins. Print depicts a lovely scene with the Niagara in the background, wooded hillside and a man and woman seated beneath the tree.

A letter to Hamilton Cole thanking him for the caricatures he sent Parton and mentioning a copy of one of the caricatures will be in the next edition of Harpers' Monthly magazine. James Parton was an English-born American biographer who wrote books on the lives of Horace Greeley, Aaron Burr, Andrew Jackson, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Voltaire. Parton was the most popular biographer of his day in America...
