November 10, EDC Fall Speaker Series

Please join us as the Fall Speaker Series continues on November 10th. This event will feature two speakers with affiliation to the Mortenson Center for Engineering in Developing Communities (MCEDC).
Karl Linden


First, we will hear from Karl Linden, one of the co-directors of MCEDC.  Karl is faculty in Environmental Engineering, teaching courses and doing research on drinking water treatment. He was recently selected to serve as a member of the World Health Organization's Water Quality and Health Technical Advisory Group. Karl will be sharing about the EDC program.



Jessica Kaminsky

Second, we will hear from Jessica Kaminsky. Jessica is a CU Civil Systems and EDC  alumna, having completed her PhD with Dr. Amy Javernick-Will. She now works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Universi ty of Washington. Jessica will be sharing about her work focused on developing communities and the social sustainability of civil infrastructure. The Environmental Engineering Seminar Series is pleased to announce a presentation by Dr. Kartik Chandran, Associate Professor at Columbia University and 2015 MacArthur Fellowship "Genius Award" recipient. Dr. Chandran will be speaking on his recognized work on the microbial N-cycle and its links to the water, energy and carbon cycles.
