Dhaliwal, Fulton, and Abbas Win Teaching Awards  
      
Congratulations to the 2014-15 Essential Core Teaching Awardees: AME members  Gurpreet Dhaliwal, MD  (Outstanding Lecture) and  Tracy Fulton, PhD (Innovative Teaching), and department of pathology chair, Abul Abbas, MBBS (Inspirational Teaching); and the recipients of the   2015 Kaiser Awards for Excellence in Teaching. We'd also like to acknowledge the many AME nominees for both awards. Recipients and nominees were honored at a special ceremony and reception on October 21.
Highlights from the 2015 New Member Celebration 
The AME's Annual Celebration of New Members continues to highlight and support the accomplishments of faculty and staff in the School of Medicine's medical education community. This year's celebration welcomed 19  new members, saluted 74 outstanding teachers, recognized two members for outstanding AME service, and honored two cherished staff members. By Descartes Li, MD. Teaching Scholars Program: Not Just Teaching

WGEA spring meeting will be April 14-17 in Tucson, Arizona, and the call for submissions has now started. The submission deadline is December 1. Click here to access the submission guidelines and information.
Register for Teaching Observation Course - Feb. 1 
This workshop introduces the essential elements of effective feedback, and provides an opportunity for participants to hone their own observation, evaluation and feedback skills, through the Teaching Observation Program (TOP). This course is strongly recommended for AME members interested in becoming TOP mentors or those who want a refresher on the TOP program. Involvement in the TOP program can go towards AME service.
