Network Spotlight: Training
Announcing the second Nonprofit Know-How 2.0 training: 
Development Boot Camp. On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., we encourage professionals involved in development to attend "Taking Control of Your Fund Development Plan." Michelle Beisker, VIce President of Development at the Community Foundation, will use her  strong backgroun in the nonprofit community, and the  various development roles sh e's held, to share how to:
1) Set yourself up for development success.
2) Outline a successful strategy for annual giving.
Development Boot Camp will be held in Foundation Hall at the Community Foundation, 324 3rd St SE, Cedar Rapids. The training is free; please register here. Refreshments will be served. Please contact Carrie Walker with any questions.

Iowa Nonprofit Summit November 9-10 Seeks Presenters

The Iowa Nonprofit Summit is seeking applications to provide high-quality training during the Summit from November 9-10, 2015, in Ames. The overarching topic of the 2015 conference is "Building the Capacity of our Charitable Sector Through Volunteer Management and Nonprofit Effectiveness," and the specific theme selected for this year is "The Power of Relationships." These monthly or bi-monthly lunch meetings provide a great opportunity to discuss current issues, discover new ideas, and create peer connections.  Email invitations with agenda, topics, and RSVP requests for free lunch are sent about a week before a peer group meeting.
