One Day Zen Meditation Retreat

Someone comes to you in a dream and asks you about the meaning of your life. If you don’t answer, you fail your responsibility. What will you say? ~ Zen koan

Every now and then we may notice a certain unexplainable longing in our life. It may be a feeling of quiet unease that arises for no apparent reason or it could be a strange and vaguely familiar scene that keeps playing out in our dream life. It's a question that presents itself to people of all times and cultures - but right here, now, how do you respond?

A Zen meditation retreat is a unique opportunity to explore the persistent questions of our life in a deeply intimate way. There is meditation, healthy vegetarian meals, interviews with the teacher, Zen talks and conversation, and lots of quiet warmth and community.

No experience is required and the retreat is open to everyone.

Retreat Agenda

9am-noon*: introductory talk, meditation, body movement

noon-1:00pm: lunch break

1:00-4pm*: meditation, sutra service, zen talk and discussion

* Note: interviews (dokusan) with the teacher available

Cost: LZC members $25, Non-members $50

This retreat is led by Raymond Gaudry, Roshi. Raymond is a Zen teacher in the Pacific Zen School Lineage and the Director of the London Zen Centre. Using meditation, koans, art, conversation and a deep intimacy, Raymond creates a modern, no nonsense, way to step into a more open and direct way of experiencing your life.
