October 2015

Greetings!

Kitchens and family rooms are where we love to gather with our friends and families.  It's no wonder that these rooms are the most renovated and updated spaces in a home.  Replacing cabinets can be costly, but painting them can give your kitchen a completely new look saving you thousands of dollars.  Best of all, it's "green" and you don't have to live through a major renovation.  And, by keeping your brick fireplace intact, it can look gorgeous with a face lift of stone plaster and soft, neutral glazes that blend beautifully with any style.

Kitchens and fireplaces are a few of the projects we are will complete before the holidays...just in time for family gatherings.  Oh, and a very large pew. Yes, you read that correctly :)

Stay tuned for all the before and afters of these projects!

Enjoy!

Donna

Brightly Updated Needham Kitchen Cabinets and Island

These homeowners were looking for kitchen ideas on Houzz.com and came across photos of  kitchen cabinets we painted last year.  They contacted me to give them an estimate and ideas for their kitchen.  I showed them a sample door that was exactly what they wanted, White Dove painted cabinets, and hired us to paint their cabinets.  They decided  to have the island painted a different color and chose Benjamin Moore's Woodlawn Blue, a pale blue.   After they saw the completed island, they both decided they didn't like it.  I thought a blue/gray color would go well with the counter tops and showed them samples of grays that would work in the space.  They ended up choosing Benjamin Moore's Pike's Peak Gray.  It went well with the neutral granite and pulled out the blue/gray tones in the kitchen area rug.  It also blended well with the other colors in the open concept kitchen/family room.  They love how bright and cheerful their kitchen looks!

The wastebasket cabinet originally had a knob that we filled in so that a new handle could be put on the door.  It now pulls out making the space more user friendly.
