The 1913 Thomas Dockrill Trapp House belonged to its third owner for 70 years until it was purchased in 2013 by a family who recognized the beauty of this gracious home and the importance of saving it from possible demolition.

Like many large old homes in the 1950's and '60's, rooms in
Trapp House were rented out. Thankfully the woodwork and room configurations were left untouched. The current owners are restoring the stately home's character while adding some 21st century convenience.

Trapp House is just one of five Queen's Park venues on the Homes Tour this year.
Something new this year

NWHPS and the Arts Council of New Westminster are teaming up to build community through heritage, history and art. Look for thought-provoking works set against a backdrop of timeless architectural features in many of the homes and public spaces on this year's Homes Tour.

Also note that there is no Tea this year. Wonderful as it's been to stop for sandwiches and tea at landmarks like the Justice Institute, NWHPS has decided that 2016 is the year to try something new. New Westminster is home to a fabulous assortment of exceptional eateries that offer delicious fare at every price point. Stay tuned for luncheon ideas in our upcoming newsletters and Facebook posts.
