This class equips  you with practical skills for one-on-one 

crisis intervention whether for mass or personal crisis.

 Mary Leonard teaches this high-demand secular class from a strong Christian perspective, so this particular course 

looks at spiritual first aid as well.

 

Training Highlights

  • Basic crisis communication techniques with the importance of attunement and validation.
  • Recognizing and normalizing common signs of stress and grief.
  • Restoration of adaptive functioning.
  • This class is required to become a Billy Graham chaplain.
  • This class is one option of required classes to become a CRI (Crisis Response International) chaplain.
  • This class is recognized by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency).
  • This is an ICISF (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation) class approved for CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management).
  • You will receive a certificate of completion from ICISF.
Lunch will be one hour long. Consider bringing a sack lunch.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Mary Leonard has extensive experience ministering in personal and mass crisis and teaching on the subject as an instructor with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. She is an ordained minister and a chaplain with the Grandview Police Department, Crisis Response International, and the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team. She is a gifted teacher and encourager, has an urgency to see the Body of Christ equipped to minister in crisis, and is expecting a great harvest of souls in the context of crisis. She is also a licensed massage therapist, offering physical and emotional healing. She and her husband live in Kansas City, have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
