A GOOD Goodbye!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declaires the LORD, "plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
~Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Greetings Friends!
I dislike goodbyes. I really do! Goodbyes mark endings, not beginnings. They come with sadness, not joy. They lack hope. I especially dislike goodbyes when the here and now is so good. I think it makes it harder to say, "Goodbye!"
On Sunday we say goodbye to Pastor Amie and to Tracie Peterson; two women who have been called to Hosanna to live and love and serve among us. God has now placed another call on their lives. Pastor Amie and her family will be relocating to California- a new opportunity! Tracie will transition to a new congregation in Granite Falls- helping another congregation in transition through InterServe Ministry. We thank God for their time with us!
Today I am reminded that GOOD goodbyes are important as Hosanna prepares for a new beginning. I am reminded that GOOD goodbyes can give us HOPE. GOOD goodbyes open doors to new beginnings. GOOD goodbyes can be times of reflection and reminders of God's goodness and faithfulness. There is peace in knowing that GOOD goodbyes are necessary to following the path that God has for us- for new beginnings to begin and for us to grow by walking the path in faith.
Join me on Sunday saying a GOOD GOODBYE- to Pastor Amie, Tracie and their families- as we say THANKS BE TO GOD for their service among us!
See you in Church or at the Lake!
~
Pastor Linda
PS:
Our GOOD GOODBYE will happen at both worship services on Sunday, June 28th - 8am in Hosanna's Garden Chapel AND 9:30am at Lakeside Park which will be followed by a potluck reception at the park. Hosanna will be providing grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. We ask YOU to bring a favorite Salad or Dessert to share. YUM and FUN and GOOD- REALLY GOOD!!!
NOTE: In the event of rain, the 9:30 service moves back to Hosanna's Great Hall, as will the picnic & potluck. Watch for any weather-related notices on Hosanna's website
www.hosannaforestlake.net and our Facebook page after 8am on Sunday.

Luther Dell Camp - July 19-24

Youth Camp (have completed grades 4-8) It's more than a just a drive down a 5-mile dirt road...so much more than a lake, a campfire, and a carpetball table. It's a place to be a kid and be with friends. It's a place to open your eyes and look for Jesus all around you. It's a place to be washed over with wonder when you take a break from sprinting around the game fields and slow down long enough to catch a glimpse of God with your heart. Join us for a week where you and your friends can grow together as friends and in faith. We are a relational program that spends time getting to know each camper. We have a week-long competition called Luther Dell Olympics and play an all-camp game during the evening. By the end of the week, you won't want to leave!
*
Roots Camp (have completed grades 9-12) As senior high students, you are facing the challenges of high school and preparing for what is next in your lives. This is your chance to explore where your heart is rooted. Senior Adult Ministry (SAM)
Hosanna's Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) is a monthly gathering of mature folks who enjoy socializing with fun, interesting people and sharing a meal together. We typically meet on the first
Thursday of the month (unless it falls on a holiday, then we meet a week later) for lunch. We alternate the location - one month at an area restaurant and the following month at church. Our primary goal is to enjoy each other's company, laugh and establish enduring friendships.
