Immigrant Achievement Awards 2015  

Lethbridge Family Services - Immigrant Services honours the outstanding immigrants in the Lethbridge community. One of the awards is for sport, and the criteria is:

To recognize an immigrant who has made a significant contribution to the development/sustainability of sports programs; caused increased participation from community members or encouraged athletic achievement.  

Deadline for nominations is Monday August 17th, 2015

If your local sport organization has a registration event coming up for your fall and winter programming, please let us know, we would like to compile a list to share with the community.

Local Athletes representing Lethbridge

The summer of 2015 is turning out to be a good one for Lethbridge athletes, as 14 athletes recently competed at the Pan Am Games, 1 athlete competed at the 2015 Special Olympic World Games, 1 athlete will compete at the Parapan Am Games, 10 athletes will compete at the Western Canada Summer Games, and 4 athletes are currently in Sarajevo competing at the 2015 Judo World Cadet Championship.

SCiP (Serving Communities Internship Program)
SCiP brings Alberta's nonprofit organizations and
post-secondary students together to make a difference in their communities.
The new program year began Saturday August 1, which means there is a brand new set of bursaries available so you can start new internships!

Junior Little League Canadian Championships
The Junior Little League Canadian Championships will be held at Spitz Stadium.  The championships are scheduled to start on August 4 and continue through till August 14.  Lethbridge is proud to host this prestigious event.  Volunteers are still needed, call the Spitz Stadium office for info 403-320-2025
