Thanksgiving is a very special time to be with family, and think about all the blessings we have in Christ (Ephesians 1:3 ESV).
Naturally, when we think about Thanksgiving, we are thankful for our friends, family, church and country. God has truly been good to us (James 1:17a).
At this time of year, with everything that is going on, the most important thing for us to do is give thanks to the Lord (Psalm 118:29, ESV). Psalm 100:4 (ESV) says, "Be thankful to Him, and bless His name." God truly provides all that we have (Matthew 5:45, 1 Timothy 6:17 ESV).
Remember to take time specifically to thank the Lord. The Lord has given each of us so much.
We give thanks to the Lord for each other as well.
I thank the Lord for each of you - for your kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness. Let's pray to the Lord and thank Him for each other, remembering Paul's beautiful words, "I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus."(1 Corinthians 1:4, ESV)
