Let's Make Fall Phenomenal!

Can you feel the brisk transition of seasons? We may have officially welcomed autumn at our Equinox service in September, but now that we have switched our clocks back an hour to Eastern standard time, it really feels like we have arrived in a "full-on Fall." It is dark at 5 p.m. The leaves are changing and cascading down. The air is getting cooler and crisper.

And out come the fabulous fall jackets and sweaters, the fragrant seasonal flavors (pumpkin anything, anyone?) and the smoky sensory delight of a blazing fireplace as you stroll down down your golden and rusty colored streets. There is something so COZY about this time of year isn't there?

And isn't ISD always a cozy place to be? This past weekend, in honor of All Soul's Day on November 2, we held a lovely NEW service honoring the souls of our beloved friends and family that are beyond our Earthplane. We lit candles in their memory, and we reflected on how our loved ones still live on through us! It was a lovely time to re-member that all life is eternal life as long as we ALL choose to live!

This week, we honor and hone our body-mind-spirit connection when Rev. Ken Foor starts  "Kundalini Yoga for Beginners and Beyond,"  The class begins Tuesday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. and will run each Tuesday through November 24. If you haven't done yoga in awhile or never done it, this is the class for you! Kundalini Yoga can be done in a chair and/or on the floor so it is perfect for all levels. Yet another fabulous chance to get spiritually "tuned up and toned" for the coming winter months.

Reiki Master Alice Langholt returns on November 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. for Practical Reiki Certification Level Three! If you have gone through the first two sessions this fall, now you have the opportunity to get your Master Level Certification.

And we invite you to join us on Sunday November 8 immediately following our service for our first ISD Open House. Rev. James De Biasio is leading a team of busy but dedicated Kitchen Angels to prepare us all a home cooked Italian-themed feast to help us kick off our 2016 Pledge Drive Campaign. Throughout the Open House we will hear from both recent and longtime members of our ISD family, who will share with us what ISD means to them, and who will encourage us to think about what ISD means to us as we approach our 30th anniversary in May, 2016! You won't want to miss this special time for our Spiritual Home and all who seek its magic!

It has been and continues to be a Phenomenal Fall - in Washington D.C. and at ISD. Check our Facebook page here, and our Instagram account here - then check back again and again for updates!
