Autism: Speech Therapy is Important
by Andrea Quinn, M.S., C.C.C.
Director of Speech and Language Department

One of the hallmark characteristics of Autism is limited to no verbal communication. Speech therapy is very important.

At Barrett we work through play to increase verbal communication. We use cause-effect toys, gross motor and fine motor activities to motivate and reward the child to use communication to express themselves.
