Namaste,
This month's theme is about spiritual transformation. The metaphor of the caterpillar coming out of its own substance and evolving into a beautiful butterfly is a good example.   Ma gave us many tools for our own personal transformation.  They include  being conscious of the breath, having gratitude, serving others, remembering to always laugh  and making friends with death as we walk through life. These tools help create a path to the deeper part of ourselves, a shedding of our egos and the emergence our soul.

"When you realize that you are not the physical self, a transformation begins to happen."

 Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati
From Yashoda
The Golden Thread of Satsang

"Ma has brought us together and wrapped us in Baba's blanket. She has brought us into the refuge of the heart of Satsang. Even if you have not met Ma in the flesh, you are part of a community coming together to experience truth. As we travel this road together we are held by the golden thread that Ma has woven from her heart to ours. We know that this thread binds us as one.

We have a very personal relationship with our Ma. She makes us each uniquely special. She has promised us Her love. She asks us always to be a reflection of this love and insists we give it freely to all. I am forever grateful. Come home and fill your heart. Ma's presence is profound and easily felt. You are loved and you hold together the Satsang of Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati.

A Remembrance of MA

When Ma asked me to look into her eyes in 1974, I was embarrassed at first, for I suddenly realized that this Ma looking into my eyes could see everything that I had done and everything that I could do. It was in that moment that my heart burst wide open, and tears flowed down my cheeks. Here was this great being who knew everything about me in just a few seconds, and accepted me totally with no judgment; and that, strangely so, made me happy instead of fearful.

She came into focus slowly, and with a smile, asked me to give up meat, sex, drugs and alcohol. Without any hesitation I nodded my head as she pulled me into herself, and whispered in my ear that I had come home. I feel so graced, that I never felt as sure of anything in my life as I was about following her for the rest of mine.

A Labor of Love         Mata Ram's Quilt

"When I was young, I learned to sew in order to make clothes that fit my long skinny frame.  As the years progressed, I used my sewing creativity to counterbalance the stresses of corporate life.

When I met Ma in 1977, my life was incredibly blessed and I moved to the ashram to fill my life with Her grace and love.  In my many years here on the Ashram, I have used my sewing skills in many ways. My most favorite tasks were sewing clothing for Ma to wear.

I love to use all the colors of the rainbow in my quilts. It is so like Mother Nature and how she pleases our eyes with her beauty. I especially enjoy the challenge of pairing unforgiving geometric  shapes with the giving nature of pliable fabric."  Mata Ram

Mata Ram has sewn this quilt for Kashi to raffle off as a fundraiser!!!!!  If you are interested, you can send a check and we will call you back with the numbers of your raffle ticket.

If you want a pure transformation, just love with out wanting love back. Love whole heartedly and awaken to your own potential.
The Divine Shakti is in you ready to work for you and for others.

A Poem By Sita Blakeslee

    Always A Handful

 We were

Always

the

Handful

Who waited

Down a

Street

In Brooklyn

Till the

Coast

Was clear

Then

We ran

To find

Our

Seats

And

Wait.

We were

Always

The

Handful

Who

Followed

To

Wondrous

Shores

Of a

New start

Again

We ran

To find

Our seats

More

Waiting

The

wanting

ended.

We built

More came

Seats

Filled again

Still

Just

A handful.

Listening

To

A Mother's love

That

cleaned

         cleared

                 demolished

Every

Hidden Morsel

of who

we thought

we were

The handful

Constantly

Changed

In size.

Now

we

sit

to Listen

To

tears and truth

Holding

Each

Other

Closer

The

Grace

Of

The Handful.

April's Joke

One day an employee came in to work with both of his ears bandaged. When his boss asked him what happened, he explained: "Yesterday I was ironing a shirt when the phone rang and I accidentally answered with the iron instead of the phone!"  "Well", the boss said, "that explains one ear, but what about the other?" "They called back."
