Bayou Roux will help bring in the "official start" of the Mardi Gras season on January 6th, also known as "Epiphany" (check out the official MusicFest program for the Story of Mardi Gras). This Cajun rock band is bringing the unique sound that they like to call the "Cajun Commotion™" to the Rocky Mountains for celebration that will make it seem like it's snowing in the French Quarter! A pinch of rock, a scoop of county and a heapin' helpin' of down-home Cajun/Zydeco heritage heated to the boiling point will make for a musical experience like no other. Get dressed and ready to "Ski Mardi Gras!" Beads and all! Cheers!

The Yellow House Revisited:
Cody Canada, Stoney LaRue,
Jason Boland & Mike McClure
Friday, Jan 8th | Doors at 6:30pm
The "NEW" MusicFest at
Chief Theater

"Both Sides of the Story" began two years ago in the Dung Beetle Saloon as a song swap between two of the pioneers of Red Dirt music: Cody Canada and Jason Boland. This year, Cody and Jason will be joined by two other influential Red Dirt artists: Mike McClure and Stoney LaRue. All four of these Oklahoma natives have their musical roots in the "Yellow House" in Stillwater, Oklahoma where Red Dirt music was born. It's been many years since these four musicians held their late night jam sessions in that Yellow House, and we are very excited to be hosting this historic Red Dirt reunion in the all new MusicFest at Chief Theater. Get your free, reserved ticket (MusicFest participants only) with guaranteed seating from the Dickson Productions desk at the Steamboat Grand Hotel before you head downtown!
Kevin & Dustin Welch Matinee w/ Kelley Mickwee
Tues, Jan 5th | Doors 1:40pm
Sheraton Ballroom

There's no better way to kick off your MusicFest vacation than with the Kevin & Dustin Welch Matinee performance at the Sheraton Ballroom! Kevin Welch was the 2009 MusicFest Tribute to a Legend honoree and is known for his incredible songwriting credits including "That's What I Like About You" recorded by Trisha Yearwood and "Till I'm Too Old to Die Young" recorded by Moe Bandy. Kevin raised his son Dustin on good music, giving him his first mandolin at age 5 and indoctrinating him with the music of Merle Haggard by the age of ten. This exceptional father-son duo will be joined by special guest Kelley Mickwee, an accomplished songwriter and solo artist (although you probably already know her as the sultry Southern drawl that seasoned the harmonies of The Trishas.) With musical roots like these, this is sure to be a stellar performance by three talented musicians and songwriters.
