Dear ,
Hi everyone,
Here's the latest updates with mission. We're well into the lazy, hazy, crazy, days of summer. Actually it hasn't been too bad here in Chicago. But the mission season is warming up. So smile and enjoy the latest news of missions. Check out the articles below for the latest info and review the special opportunity. See them below.

Missionaries coming to parishes
One of the Missions Offices responsibilities is to coordinate Mission Cooperative Program (MCP). This is a program of the Pontifical Mission Society. It's purpose is to bring mission groups into the diocese and assign them to parishes so the missionary can share their story of how they work with the poor and underprivileged. We have heard stories of imprisonment, kidnapped children, unfed children and their families, and the strong faith of these people to continue to believe in the God they know and trust.
This summer we're able to place missionaries in about 2/3 of the parishes in the Joliet Diocese. Sr. Nancy and I have had the pleasure to meet many of the missionaries. The missionaries determination to proclaim the Gospel through the stories they tell.
In the coming weeks we are planning a mission blog to share the stories of the missioners that come to our diocese along with our own missioners stories.

Philippines
Imagine this scene, the waves rolling up on the shore, the smell of salt water in the air, palm trees swaying in the air, coconut and banana trees full of their fruits...
Where would you rather be at the end of January, the beginning of February, in the scene above or here in the coldest part of winter???
We were still accepting applications for the Philippines mission, but you need to get them in quickly.
We leave on January 29th and return to O'Hare on February 13th, 2016. Come join us!

Faith Promise Dinner
Our Faith Promise Dinner is fast approaching. Please put November 6th on your Calendar. This is your opportunity to help missions continue to reach out and touch people in need at our mission partners sites. Please help pass the word to everyone you know. It's a night of storytelling. Stories of how mission has touch lives. Hear about the building project at Tomas home. Curious about what happens at the hospitals while we're on mission, stop by the Faith Promise Dinner. Do you know what a water women is? Come to the Faith Promise Dinner and find out. You may be one. Which University team has the biggest team? Then you'll know if you come to the Faith Promise Dinner.
