Pam Colton United Way Alliance on Aging is dedicated to helping seniors by influencing public policy at the federal, state and local level. Welcome to Pam Colton, an independent contractor working with our UWAA Public Policy group!  This group of advocates for AARP, Alzheimer's Association and other groups doing public policy on behalf of seniors. They also make recommendations on state and federal policy to the larger United Way Public Policy and Advocacy committee and host the annual Healthy Aging Legislative Breakfast.

UWAA Contest Winner!

Diane This year, all seniors who signed up for the United Way Alliance on Aging newsletter at SeniorFest 2015 were entered in a drawing for a FREE one-year YMCA membership at a Lehigh Valley facility! We are proud to announce that a woman named Diane won and chose a membership to the Bethlehem Y.  Diane proudly picked up her prize and will be exercising at this great community resource.

Thank you to everyone who signed up and to the YMCA for their membership donation.
Do You Know a Hero?
United Way Worldwide is partnering with Dolphin Digital Media to create The Hero Effect, a digital reality series that tells the stories of ordinary people making an extraordinary difference in their communities through United Way programs. Like a network original series you may watch on Netflix or Hulu, this uplifting reality series will only be shown online, with a national reach in the millions.

Here is our chance to share a story about impacting the health and independence of seniors! Do you have any ideas? Is there someone you work with or have heard of in your community who has made a significant difference in the lives of seniors? What an amazing opportunity to recognize someone who has done so much for seniors.

We are looking for a volunteer who created something new or took an existing program to a new level. For example, someone who initiated a ride-share program because of transportation issues. Please email  Cori Rolón if you know volunteers in our community who are connected to United Way programs.
