Issue 3,
September 2015
Dear Business Talk reader

Welcome to our third City of Marion BUSINESS TALK, the Council's dedicated newsletter providing you with a monthly snapshot of what is happening in your business community.

This month we have a focus on how to engage with current and future major projects.

Tonsley - Make it here
The South Australian Government's redevelopment of the old Mitsubishi site at Tonsley has been granted the 6 Star Green Star - Communities certification.  Awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia ( GBCA ), The Green Star - Communities rating tool is one of the world's first independent, transparent, national schemes able to assess and certify the sustainability of community-level projects.

Among its features is the re-use of the massive Main Assembly Building (MAB), which covers eight hectares. This re-use has prevented the loss of around 90,000 tonnes of carbon emissions embodied in its original construction.

The development will also feature connected walking and cycling paths for easy access to public transport, plus a potential 3 MW solar power system on the MAB roof; which will be Australia's largest rooftop solar panel array.

Tonsley is an ideal place to invest.
Key sectors for Tonsley, whilst not excluding other high-value sectors, include clean technologies and renewable energy; health and medical technologies and assistive devices; resources and mining; and sustainable building products and services.

If you are looking for an entree into Tonsley to experience the working environment for yourself, you can begin in a co-working space. For more information contact New Venture Institute or
Co-Hab .

To establish a presence at Tonsley or for investment information visit here or have a confidential discussion with Andrew Dickson, Economic Development Manager - Tonsley (DSD) on mobile:
