Wii-BASED EXERCISE PROGRAMS FOR SENIORS
McMaster Optimal Aging Portal

Wii-based exercise programs sound promising but are they really effective in improving balance control in seniors? A recent review of seven studies provides some answers.

Evidence from research studies shows that Wii-based training is comparable to other exercise programs for improving balance in older adults. These types of programs may be especially useful for older people who either don't participate in any type of balance training exercises because of a fear of falling or who prefer to exercise at home.
