The Turkish American National Steering Committee's
Open Letter to President Obama

The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) is proud to announce that the Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC) which ATAA Co-Chairs, and which represents 150 Turkish American organizations nationwide, published an open letter, " A Message to President Obama from Turkish Americans" on a full page in today's Washington Post.

ATAA is pleased and proud that President Obama will be visiting Turkey and participating in the G20 Meeting in Antalya. This will also provide an opportunity for American leadership to develop and implement a cooperative effort to care for over 2.5 million Syrian refugees in Turkey, to root out the causes of violent extremism in the Middle East, and to combat and defeat terrorist organizations in the region and those who support them.

Only American leadership and collective responsibility with American allies can bring stability to the region.

As Turkish Americans, we stand ready to contribute to this common endeavor.
