HBAS Measurable Mentorship 

Help students get the most out of their experience at Harvard personally, academically and professionally!  

 

We are partnering with alumni and current students to participate in a measurable mentorship program dedicated to helping students build and execute personal, academic, and professional goals during their time at Harvard. Our mission is to ensure that every student has a plan for success that they are constantly

executing on.

We are targeting Alumni looking to assist students in building and executing on measurable goals in one or all of our key focus areas.

 

Commitment

1 hour training session

1-3 month commitment

1.5 hour meeting once a week

2 hours outside of meeting with mentee

Location

Sessions are held via Skype or phone. Documents should be communicated via email.

Is it a flexible time commitment? Yes.  

 

Is it helping students develop and attain measurable goals? Yes.  

 

Is it rewarding? Yes!


All current students and alumni are encouraged to participate.

Association of Black Harvard Women:
Celebrating 40 Years
 
 

The Association of Black Harvard Women celebrated its 40th anniversary on March 27th and 28th.  The event featured incredible speakers, including For Harriet founder Kim Foster, The Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams, and Barbara Gutmann Rosenkrantz Professor of History of Science and Professor of African and African American Studies Evelynn Hammonds.

Students admitted to the class of 2019 have received their acceptance letters, and we need your help to congratulate them! We will be calling students between now and Sunday, April 26th. If you're able to make welcome phone calls to Black students who have been admitted to Harvard College, please complete this survey to share your information with us. We greatly appreciate any time that you're able to give!!

  • A record-low 5.3 percent of applicants were offered admission to Harvard College's Class of 2019. The pool of admitted students also represents small increases in diversity, with 13.3 percent and 12.1 percent of admitted students identifying as Latino and African American, respectively. Twenty-one percent of admitted students identify as Asian American, up from 19.7 percent last year. Two percent identify as Native American or Native Hawaiian.       

  • Former HBAS President Chris-Tia Donaldson AB '00, JD '03 has launched her Thank God It's Natural product line in Target stores nationwide.
