September Prayer
GOD is my defense I shall not be moved. He is the rock of my strength and my refuge. Ps 62:6-7
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
We can come into the presence of the King of Kings with our worship, praise and requests. "...For GOD is light and in Him is no darkness.' I John 1:5
Let us praise Him in our quiet time for "delivering us from the power of darkness and conveying us into the kingdom of the Son of His Love in whom we have redemption through His blood." Col 1:13-14
"With the LORD's lamp shining on your head, that is when by His light you can walk through the darkness." Job 29:3
"The hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil." Heb 6:19
"We now can with boldness enter though the veil into the Holy of Holies by the blood of Jesus. We can approach our Heavenly Father who is sitting on His throne with Jesus on His right hand side. We can draw near His throne with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled by the blood from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." Heb 10:19-23

Hope for the Future
Our Synod provides hope for the future, both individually and collectively. It does this by building a financial future through the many programs sponsored by the Lutheran Church Extension Fund. It helps meet the needs of all ages, from the young investors to beneficiary designations for seniors. For example there are the Family Emergency Steward account, the Coverdell Education Savings Account, and both traditional and Roth IRA's. You may ask your questions by calling 800-843-5233 or going to www.lcef.org for answers.

Miriam Circle
Miriam Circle will resume its monthly meetings on Tuesday morning,
September 8th at 10:00
in the church library.
The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May, and all ladies of First Lutheran are invited. We take time for coffee and fellowship and then do a Bible Study, usually from the Lutheran Women's Quarterly, and are usually finished around
noon
.
Since the latest Quarterly arrived over the summer, it will be available for everyone at the September meeting. We take an offering each month, which goes totally to our mission projects. Any business to be taken care of is done very informally at the end of our meeting.
Please come and join us.
