Registration for the 2015 Veterans Day Parade is now available. Join the excitement while honoring the men and women who served or are currently serving our country. The parade is Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Midwest City Soccer Complex. The deadline for the completed entry form is Oct. 16. More information and applications visit MidwestCityOK.org.

Get Ready for Fun at the Renaissance Run.

Lace up your running shoes for the 29th annual Renaissance Run coming up on Sept. 19! The event features a 5K run and walk starting at 8:30 a.m.
Participants will begin at the Nick Harroz Community Center and the course continues through the scenic Ridgecrest addition. Celebrate finishing the Renaissance Run with a pancake breakfast at Alliance Health Midwest!

Pre-registration is $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 & under before Sept. 12 and day of registration is $30 for all ages. The first 200 entrants will receive a short-sleeve dri-fit T-shirt.

The Renaissance Run started as a goal for people recovering from cardiac problems such as heart attacks and open heart surgery to reach goals by walking or running the short distance.
Plaza Palooza Concert Series Kicks off This Month.
 
Come out for live music from your favorite local bands during Midwest City's Plaza Palooza! Enjoy the musical entertainment in the twilight at Charles J. Johnson Central Park at Town Center Plaza.

This family-friendly concert series is held every Thursday in September beginning at 6:30 p.m. They are free and open to the public. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, picnics and coolers and come out for a great evening.  
 
On Sept. 3 visitors will enjoy the sounds of pop and country band, ME. Top 40 fans will enjoy the evening's soundtrack provided by Bandromeda on Sept. 10. This band creates an exciting atmosphere by playing highly recognizable sing-along covers that everyone can dance to. Sept. 17 the classic rock band and crowd favorite, Blue Chair Band, is going to "rock Midwest City." Classic rock fans will hear even more of their favorites on Sept. 24 when High Speed Boom comes to town.
