The Board of Education of the San Marino Unified School District is inviting applications to fill up to six (6) vacancies on the District's Academics Advisory Committee. 

The Committee's mission is to support and advise the Board of Education by, pursuant to the Board's direction, researching and evaluating policies and programs that optimize the TK-12 student academic experience. The Committee consists of persons who are willing to volunteer their time and expertise for the benefit of San Marino students, including parents of current or former students, alumni, and teachers. In addition, the Committee includes ex officio representatives from the Board of Education, the Superintendent's office, and school site administrators. 

Committee members shall be residents of the District, employed within District boundaries, or have a student enrolled in the District. Members serve a three-year term and attend regular meetings, either monthly or quarterly, on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. during the school year. Members may also serve on ad hoc subcommittees related to TK-12 foreign language and TK-12 master scheduling.  

Persons interested in serving during the 2015-2018 school years should complete the online Advisory Committee Application outlining their background and any special interests or skills that they believe will contribute to the Committee's mission. Applications  must be received by  the Superintendent's Office no later than Friday, August 28, 2015, at 4 p.m.  Questions or submissions may be emailed to   [email protected] .  Applications will be considered by the Board of Education during its September 8, 2015 meeting, and successful applicants will be notified by email thereafter.
