WBC signs Climate Declaration

Worth Brewing Company is one of hundreds of businesses that have signed the Brewery Climate Declaration, which highlights the unique ways climate is impacting the industry and what innovative solutions brewers are finding to reduce their own impacts.

Added insulation, reclaimed construction material, high efficiency motors and water and heat reclamation are among the sustainable designs of the new Worth Brewing Company brewery now under construction.

Expansion Update

We are almost two months into work on the new brewery across the street. We hope the slow, dirty part of the job is mostly over and are now looking forward to some new, exciting stages to begin.

A hopeful chronology follows:

July: interior window and door openings created in the wall between the brewery and tap room. New roof installed.
Aug: Brewery storefront demo'd and concrete pad laid.
Sept.: Plumbing, electric and HVAC work begin.
Oct.: Brewery equipment arrives; brewery storefront installed.
Nov.: Bathrooms, kitchens completed, new brewhouse goes online.
Dec.: First test batches, Tap room bar and furnishings installed.
Jan.: First beer tapped to the public.

Governor visits new brewery

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad stopped into Worth Brewing Company on June 12 as part of his annual 99 county visit. Branstad tapped a ceremonial cask to celebrate the new brewery and the economic activity it will spur in rural Iowa.

He enjoyed a glass of Strange Fella's Helles, toured the new location and talked to a throng of local citizens and press.

Thanks to all who made this a memorable day.
