During this Holiday season we have so many things to be thankful for such as having access to quality healthcare. For entire communities in developing countries access to even basic healthcare is rarely an option.

One People. One World, Annual Gala ... A Great Success!
Many thanks to Honorary Chair Margaret Alkek Williams and event Chairs Kelli Cohen Fein, MD and Barbara Van Postman for sharing their expertise throughout nearly a year of planning.
Over 250 guests attended the
One People. One World. Gala on October 3, 2015, at the Hilton
Post Oak. The proceeds will help bring much needed medical supplies and equipment to the medically indigent in the developing world.
Helping Hand For Relief and Development received the 2015 Dr. David Wray Award for their work as a global humanitarian relief and development organization responding to human sufferings in emergency and disaster situations around the world. Cameron was recognized as the Medical Bridges 2015 Corporate Honoree for their widespread support of in their community; Mr. Gary Halverson accepted the award on behalf of Cameron. Mary Ann and David McKeithan were recognized as Medical Bridges 2015 Community Honorees for their support of charitable projects in our community.
Mr. Michael Ascoli, representing Amigos Pro Obras del Santo Hermano Pedro located in Antigua Guatemala, spoke to the value that Medical Bridges' shipments bring to the people in Guatemala.

Lakewood's Servolution Day

On September 26th over 75 volunteers from Lakewood Church volunteered at Medical Bridges working various projects that ranged from sorting medical supplies to cleaning, painting durable medical equipment and beautifying the exterior of the Medical Bridges facility. The Servolution volunteers were energetic and full of joy. On behalf of the staff and the people we serve in the developing world, we thank the volunteers from Lakewood Church for their support.

Medical Mission Report - Cartagena Colombia
CDA Colombia/Conviventia and Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church with support from Medical Bridges had a successful medical mission trip in August of 2015. The team traveled to El Pozón in Cartagena, one of the most medically indigent communities in Colombia.
In seven days, the team served over 2200 people. Their healthcare delivery consisted of general medicine, dental, eye tests and medication dispensary.

BUILD TAMC Dedication Ceremony
On November 7th Texas A&M BUILD
hosted a Texas Aggie Medical Clinics dedication ceremony in honor of those who lost their lives in the collapse of the Aggie Bonfire in 1999, This year, BUILD in partnership with Medical Bridges will send 4 fully equipped mobile clinics to the countries of Haiti (2), Honduras (1) and Kenya (1).

Making a difference in Bolivia
On November 5th, 2015, Medical Bridges hosted a visit from CIES from La Paz Bolivia. Executive Director Dr. Jhonny Lopez and Director of Finance Mr. Marco Murillo, toured the Medical Bridges Distribution Center and expressed the needs of their new clinic in the city of Potosi. The visit to Medical Bridges was arranged by long-time Medical Bridges partner, Futuro Foundation USA Inc.
CIES under the leadership of Dr. Lopez is committed to improving the healthcare delivery in Potosi, one of the most medically underserved communities of Bolivia. Through this collaborative effort with Medical Bridges and Futuro, CIES plans to elevate the quality of healthcare in that region.

Raising the standards in Nigeria
Utmost Community Health has been a long-time Medical Bridges partner. On November 9, 2015,
Ms. Charm Brown and Dr. Pauline Aham-Neze from Utmost Community Health along with Mr. Ikenna Uzochukwu from TruGuide Nnewi Community Hospital visited Medical Bridges to discuss the pressing needs for quality medical supplies and equipment to support an existing hospital and a new clinic currently under construction in Anambra State, Nigeria.
Utmost Community Health will sponsor a 40-foot ocean-freight container filled with lifesaving medical supplies and equipment that will help improve the quality of life for the medically indigent population of Anambra State.
