HART WEEKLY eBLAST  | AUGUST 28, 2015

HART is encouraging residents and visitors alike to support local businesses during rail construction.

HART has created a free program called Shop and Dine on the Line in partnership with businesses along the rail corridor.

Similar to successful programs in other cities that have built rail projects, the aim is to have people frequent restaurants, merchants and shopping centers near rail construction.

Businesses are offering special discounts and deals to attract customers.

HART has created a brochure containing all the current offers and discounts.  You can view the brochure and download the Shop and Dine on the Line card at www.shopanddineontheline.com

Redeeming discounts and offers is easy.  Just browse through the offers and discounts, stop by the participating business, show your program card or the discount brochure-- or just mention Shop & Dine on the Line--and receive your special discount.

Shop & Dine on the Line is one of several business outreach programs HART is making available to assist businesses during rail construction.

The program will be extended to businesses operating in the Airport and City Center sections of the project at a later date.
  ALOHA STADIUM BOUND

The high school and college football seasons are upon us, and that means fans will be flocking to Aloha Stadium.

The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors open their 2016 campaign next Thursday, September 3 against the Buffaloes from the University of Colorado.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., but the Aloha Stadium parking lot will open earlier.

Public parking lots will open at 2 p.m. and drivers are asked to use only gates 3 and 4 off Kahuapaani Street and to proceed to alternate site if the signs read "Lot Full."

The alternate parking sites are at Kam Drive In, Leeward Community College and Radford High School.  There will be no parking in the Kam Lot.
Reserved parking will open at 3 p.m.

Honolulu's rail system will include a station at Aloha Stadium so that fans will have another option to getting to and from football games and other events.

Until then, please drive carefully through construction zones.

Go Bows!
