About
Chern on Dispute Boards, 3rd Edition

This new 3rd edition of "Chern on Dispute Boards"  examines the law of dispute boards and their development around the world, while also covering procedural topics that are of particular concern to those utilising them. It deals with advanced practitioner issues in the emerging law of dispute boards on an international scale.

This book guides the reader through the complexities of commercial and construction disputes together with their successful resolution, as well as presenting a way forward for the dispute board members themselves to administer dispute boards all over the world. It is therefore the number one guide for construction lawyers and engineers, as well as dispute board stakeholders worldwide.

Do you have any colleagues with expertise in the fields of arbitration, surveying, engineering, construction, law or energy that would be an asset to our membership, or perhaps know someone who wants to learn more about Dispute Boards? Tell them about the DBF:

Project of the Month: Sweden's Ice Hotel
Main hall of the ICEHOTEL designed by Alessandro Falca & AnnaSofia Mååg, photo by Lars Thulin, CC BY-SA 4.0

In honour of winter and the new year we would like to highlight Sweden's  ICEHOTEL 2016 in  Jukkasjärvi which has opened for this winter season and is a marvel of construction and artistry.

According to ICEHOTEL's website, every year  since the original hotel was created in 1989, artists, designers, architects and others have converged on  Jukkasjärvi, Sweden to carve and sculpt the hotel using ice and snow from water that originates in the Arctic Circle.  For this season's hotel opening, ICEHOTEL allowed the public to submit their ideas for various themes.

Each 'art suite' is designed and constructed by a different team. In addition to the art suites, there are also larger luxury suites available.

Of course, with ice being the transitory construction material that it is, every year provides an opportunity for change and innovation as the hotel melts and is re-designed and sculpted all over again.

For more information, photos and videos of the build - including ICEHOTEL's history - visit their website  or their  Facebook page .
