Donors Needed For Adopt-A-Family!
We still have a number of Dreamers and their families waiting to be matched. Will you be the one to "adopt" one or more Dreamer families to help provide them with gifts and brighten their holiday celebrations? We are also in need of donors for our Adopt-A-Center and Adopt-A-College Dreamer programs. For more information visit the Adopt-A-Family page on our website.

If you would like participate, then please contact Sydney Hofferth at 303-444-3636 x20 or by email at [email protected].

25th Anniversary Luncheon!
Kalmia Class Sponsor Midge Korczak & Dreamer Alumni Armando Avila

Thank you for making our 25th Anniversary Dream-Maker Luncheon a spectacular success! Click here to view more photos.  Over 1,000 people attended to hear our Dreamers, Dreamer Alumni, and sponsors share moving testimonials about how "I Have a Dream" has CHANGED THEIR LIVES.

100% of the donations from the luncheon are going towards sponsoring new Dreamers.  Attendees were inspired to make a commitment of $2,500 per child, per year for 10 years. The response to our request for people to "change lives" and sponsor a Dreamer at the luncheon was overwhelming - 100 children were sponsored!

We would also like to thank our 2015 Dream-Maker Luncheon underwriters. We are already confirming underwriters for next year's luncheon! For more information please contact [email protected] or 303-444-3636 x15.

Sonia Rivera - Dakota Solomon Scholarship Winner

Sonia at her High School Graduation
The 2015 Dakota Solomon Scholarship Recipient is Sonia Rivera, a 2012 graduate of Boulder Universal High School and the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County's Sanchez Dreamer Class. Sonia is now a student at Metropolitan State University of Denver, majoring in  Psychology and minoring in English.

In December of 2001, Kristen and Ariel Solomon created an endowment with the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County in memory of their son, Dakota Solomon, who passed away at the age of seven. The Dakota Solomon Memorial Fund was matched by a challenge grant from the Community Foundation serving Boulder County. With this fund, the "I Have a Dream" Foundation awards a college scholarship to a Dreamer attending college to use for books, room and board, and other expenses each year.
Welcome AmeriCorps Members!
We are excited to welcome our new AmeriCorps members to the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County! This year "I Have a Dream" has 29 members from around the country joining its wonderful team! The new members will collaborate with low-income youth at our various sites across Boulder County to provide academic and cultural enrichment programs. They will also act as mentors and role models and strive to build meaningful relationships with our Dreamers outside the traditional classroom setting.

Our ability to serve more than 400 Dreamers across Boulder County simply would not be possible without our AmeriCorps. We currently have one opening for a February 2016-February 2017 AmeriCorps Vista Service position. If you would like to apply or would like more information click here or contact Kristin Pazulski at [email protected].

About the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County
Since 1990, the award-winning "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County has assisted 780 children from low-income areas in achieving their education and career goals by providing long-term personal and academic support, tutoring, mentoring and four-year tuition-assistance scholarships to each graduating student. The organization sponsors entire groups of students from elementary schools or from low-income housing sites and works with these children and their families from elementary school through high school graduation and then "to and through" college. Currently, there are seven active "I Have a Dream" classes in Boulder County, with three classes in Boulder, two in Longmont and two in Lafayette. The "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County has doubled expected graduation rates for its graduating classes of students and has awarded $2 million in scholarships. The program follows the national model established in New York in 1981 by founder Eugene Lang.
