The Encore Institute is part of Salt Lake Community College and was established to assist adult learners invest in themselves. It offers flexible class scheduling for training, certificates, and degrees. The Encore Institute can help boost careers and employability as well as support the pursuit of personal interest courses. Experiment with photography through capturing photographs alongside a professional photographer! Hands-on workshops incorporate landscape, night, motion, and studio lighting/portrait photography. Last class time is spent reviewing and assessing peer work.

These foundational courses provide the base knowledge and skills required for individuals to gain entry-level positions in the medical device industry. They also serve as stepping stones for career advancements. Take individual courses for professional development or take all four to earn a certificate.
This course introduces the regulations governing the life science industry with emphasis on those that impact medical device development and manufacturing. A thorough understanding of FDA regulations and an overview of equivalent international regulations will be covered.

This course introduces the concept of a quality system, system structure, and its relevance to the medical device and life science industry. Individuals will understand proper setup and operation of a quality system, including the FDA-required Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

This course is an introduction to the field of auditing concepts. Students will gain a basic foundational knowledge to quality auditing in the medical device industry. This course will explore standards and regulations from an auditor's perspective; review audit program structure; audit planning, performance, and reporting; action plans; and techniques and tools for conducting a successful quality audit.

Positive Psychology Certificate - New Online Program!
Positive Psychology emphasizes the study of human strengths, positive emotions, and well-being that can be applied to professional work settings as well as personal life. A certificate of achievement is issued to individuals who successfully complete five of ten courses. Classes start August 26th!
