Art Journaling for Beginners

What is Art Journaling? It's a safe place to exercise your creativity and experiment with new techniques where perfection is not the focus. Instead, the focus is on the process - that rewarding feeling we get when we create!  Do you like to paint?  Do you enjoy coloring in adult coloring books?  Do you like to learn new things?  Then this class is for you!

Art Journaling is for everyone - you start from where you are - whether you have some art experience or none at all!  In this series of classes, we will be gathering/making the basic supplies you will need for your art journaling adventure - all while keeping the budget in mind!  At the end of each class, we will discuss what supplies/items you will need to bring the following week - most items you will have around the house or can be purchased at the Dollar Store.  

Week 1 - Marbling paper.  A fun and effective way of stepping out of the "control" box!  You will have limited control of how this marbled paper will turn out - but that is the whole point!  Marbled paper can be used for background, borders, collage, or cut out shapes using stencils or die cuts, etc.  It's also a great way to use up left over paint instead of it going in the trash.

Week 2 - Creating/Gathering Mark Makers.  There are so many items that can be used to make marks on art journaling pages - many found around your house!  We will also be making some for your stash!

Week 3 - Creating/Gathering Stencils.  Lots of options with this one!  I will show you how to use stencils to build layers on your pages as well as dimension.  We will also be making stencils for your stash!

Week 4 - Creating Non-toxic Sprays.  Low cost way of achieving great color splashes on art journaling pages - use with stencils or without!  We will be making 12 colors.
