The 2015 Business Excellence Awards Winners Announcement
 
The West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the 2015 Business Excellence Awards during the gala celebration at the Marcel Noël Hall on November 7th, 2015. Based on nominations received from the community of West Nipissing, eight deserving local establishments were presented with prestigious and unique awards. The nomination period opened on July 17th and closed on September 25th, 2015. The finalists in each award category were shortlisted by the Business Awards Committee and were subjected to the judging process by an independent panel of judges.
 
The winners in each category are as follows:
 
New Business of the Year Award: Padou's Steak & Ribs
Looking Good Award: Rustic Zen Wellness Studio
Not-For-Profit Organization of the Year Award: Le CANO - Conseil des Arts de Nipissing Ouest
Aboriginal Business Award: Young Forestry Services
Most Active & Outstanding Business of the Year (10 Employees or Less) Award: Steve's Premiere Pizza
Most Active & Outstanding Business of the Year (OVER 10 Employees) Award: Lafond's Towing & Recovery Ltd.
People's Choice Award: La Vie en Couleur & Décor
Lifetime Achievement Award: Goulard Lumber 1971 Ltd.
 
One of West Nipissing's premier caterer's, featuring chef Nick Tsiogas, and his team from Blue Mandolin Catering, provided a five star four course meal. As well, all of the attendees were entered in a draw for $1,000 West Nipissing Dollars draw that can be spent at any of the West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce Members Businesses. Additionally, the evening's entertainment was provided by local musicians "Icy Redd"; Richard Lafond, wife Annette Lafond, Mario Arcand and crew, as well as, DJ and lighting services from Dan Belanger - DBSL pro sound and lighting.
 
All of the businesses nominated in the eight award categories were recognized at the event for their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to serving our community. " The award celebration is to honor and thank those who exemplify good business ethics in our community; so thank you! The West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce believes you are all winners tonight!" said Marian Bergeron, Chairperson of the Business Awards Committee.

AGRICULTURAL SYMPOSIUM SURVEY

The West Nipissing Agricultural Task Force (WNATF) Committee is organizing an Agricultural Symposium in March 2016 and is seeking your input. The agricultural symposium will raise awareness of the full sector needs in Northeastern Ontario, cover diverse topics of interest such as the role of agriculture in the local economy, and feature guest speakers, local farmers, and dynamic facilitators for break-out sessions. Please complete the survey to assist us in identifying topics of interest that you would like to see addressed at the symposium. 

The WNATF is governed by a committee made up of sector business owners, key stakeholders and members of the West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. The role of the WNATF is to increase awareness for the food that is produced in the area and market the advantages of eating locally sourced food. The committee is focused on educating the community at large on the value of shopping and eating locally and how it benefits residents and local business.

La Voix des Patriotes  2015

Chère Propriétaire de commerce  du West Nipissing,
 
Le Loupfm 97,1  et l'école Franco Cité son partenaire dans un projet de radio .  Nous avons produit  une émission  '' La Voix des Patriotes''  l'année dernière , la première dans tout le nord Ontario !
Pendant cette production les élèves ont reçu de l'éducation sur plusieurs sujets et surtout la chance de grandir dans eux même ... la confiance .. . l'expérience ... honnêtement cette expérience est fantastique.
 
Nous sommes la seule radio francophone ,  nos auditeurs son vos voisins , vos familles , vos amies , les familles et les connaissant  de tous ses étudiants !!!
 
L'émission de radio ``La Voix des Patriotes`` a eu un grand succès avec les élèves.  M. Denis Beaudry veut reprendre le projet pour une deuxième année, en octobre.
L'émission va faire  partie du programme pendant les cours et sera enregistrée dans leur propre studio à l'école. Les Pubs  seront enregistrées dans notre studio à la station de radio du Le Loup FM.
Marcel Marcotte donne de l'encadrement ici au studio , le prof à l'école  et j'ai le plaisir d'avoir des invités spéciaux de L'Université de Sudbury  pour faire des encadrements sur  autre sujet : script - entrevue - radio-.....
