SMA ANNUAL MEETING

A Celebration of SMA, Clients and Community

SMA hosted its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 15th at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. The evening included celebrations of clients successes, SMA accomplishments over the year and community leaders who have an impact on behavioral healthcare services.

With just over 300 in attendance it was a full crowd. While the meeting included the presentation of SMA's 2013-2014 Annual Report, and community and staff awards, the true highlights of the evening were the inspiring messages from clients through a video entitled "It Feels Good to be Strong" and the emotional vocal performance of "Free" by 17-year old Guen, which earned her a standing ovation.

CEO AWARDS

Each year the CEO presents both team and individual performance awards in recognition of programs who "work hard, work smart, have fun and make a difference...one day at a time".

Individual awards went to Ernestine (EC) Cunningham from the Putnam Care Center and Salvatore (Tore) Gintoli from Crisis/Detox in Daytona Beach.

This year's team awards went to Reality House and Prevention on the Move. Special recognition was also given to Carol Locher of Reality House who recently celebrated 40 years with the agency.

BOARD LEADERSHIP AWARDS

The 2012-2014 Board Chairman, Rosaria C. Upchurch, presented Board Leadership Awards to Tom O'Keefe and Benjie Bates for their outstanding work on the Board of Directors and their dedication to SMA.

As Rosaria turned the gavel over to the 2014-2016 Board Chair, Connie Ritchey, Rosaria was honored for the amazing work she has done over the past two years as Chair.
