School Registration for Arizona Poetry Out Loud Now Open

Poetry Out Loud (POL) is a national poetry recitation contest for high schools that provides free classroom materials for teachers and scholarship opportunities for students. POL is open to all Arizona students, grades 9-12. Registration for the 2015-2016 season of Poetry Out Loud will be open through October 30, 2015.


Annual Satisfaction Survey This is your chance to let the Arts Commission know how we're doing. All feedback is welcome and everyone's response matters. Please respond by 11:59pm, Friday, August 21, 2015. Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences and feedback.	Next50 Photo Contest The Arts Commission invites photographers, amateur and professional, to submit original photographs capturing Arizona's spirit, beauty and potential.The featured photographer will receive a $500 award plus a prize package worth $150 from our contest sponsor Tempe Camera.

Educator Arts Day and Resource Fair

August 22, 2015│9:00am-3:00pm
Hosted by the Phoenix Art Museum, this free event will provide hands-on professional development workshops in art, music and theatre in the morning, followed by an afternoon resource fair where educators can learn more about the opportunities offered by various arts and culture organizations. Event includes catered lunch, workshop materials, prize raffles, teaching resources, and continuing education credits.

Summary of the Summit on Creative Aging in America

The Summit on Creative Aging in America: A Pre-Conference to the 2015 White House Conference on Aging was co-hosted by the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Center for Creative Aging. The summary materials identify needs and barriers as well as possible solutions to the issues surrounding healthy aging and age-friendly community design.
