Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST)

Executive Director of Finance and Operations Steve Brown gave the annual report on the FIRST rating for NBISD. NBISD earned a perfect score of 30 points on the 2015 report and a passing rating.


Recognitions

Pledge Leaders

Khalyna Martinez, a fifth-grader, and Erik Martinez, a first-grader, of Lone Star Elementary were the pledge leaders for the month of October 2015.
NBHS Female Student of the Month

Gina Gomez was recognized as the NBHS Female Student of the Month for October 2015.

NBHS Male Student of the Month

Austin Read was recognized as the NBHS Male Student of the Month for October 2015.

National Scholars

A total of 5 students were recognized at National Scholars at the Board meeting.

National Principals Month

A total of 33 principals and assistant principals from NBISD were recognized as part of National Principals Month.

Consent Agenda

All items on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the Board of Trustees and will be enacted with one motion. There will be no separate discussion of the items unless a Board member so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as an item on the Regular Agenda. The following items were approved: 

  • Minutes to the Regular Board Meeting held on September 21, 2015
  • Minutes to the Special Board Meeting held on October 5, 2015
  • Members to the 2015-2016 School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) to include: Marc DuFrene, Tiffany Friske, Heather Harrison, Keri Kyle, Allison Rickerson and Connie Wheet
