The New "Business Portal" Website

Based on interviews with business leaders and Big Ten benchmarking, Rutgers' Corporate Engagement Team created a completely new version of their Business Portal. Designed with the needs of business people in mind, the Business Portal has a new navigation scheme, updated content and two robust search functions. Check out the new website here.

New Opportunities for Licensing Rutgers Technologies 

New technologies developed at Rutgers are available for licensing. Those include a human prostate organoids culture kit, a novel gene-silencing platform and a low-immunogenic peptide for coating immunogenic drug delivery systems. Read more. 
Kimball to Lead Office of Research Commercialization
Christopher Molloy, senior vice president for research
and economic development, has functionally merged two units: the Office of Translational Sciences and the Office of Innovation and Partnerships. David Kimball, associate vice president for translational sciences, will lead the consolidated operation. Also in that group,  Cherise Kent has been named director of corporate engagement, a new post, and  Vincent Smeraglia has been named executive director of  strategic alliances. 

Clinical Trial Begins for Stent Made with Rutgers Polymer 

A new stent for treating cardiovascular disease that incorporates a polymer invented at Rutgers has been implanted in patients for the first time. The device, called Fantom, is a drug-eluting scaffold being developed by REVA Medical Inc. The stent, is made from a unique formulation from a tyrosine-based polymer family invented by Joachim Kohn, Rutgers Board of Governors Professor of Chemistry. The company signed the initial licensing agreement with Rutgers in 2004 for the polymer family. Read more. 

Matinas BioPharma Acquires RU Spinout

Matinas BioPharma Holdings Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of lipid-based prescription therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic and cardiovascular conditions and the treatment of infectious diseases, has acquired all of the outstanding stock of Aquarius BioTechnologies Inc., an innovative bio-delivery drug discovery company with a novel and proprietary lipid-crystal nano-particle cochleate formulation technology platform. Read more.

Finalists Chosen in Solve for X, a Google Initiative, Including a Rutgers Inventor

Novel solutions for sustainable, ultra-low emission production of concrete and electricity, a microbe-based fertilizer alternative, a cancer research innovation and a new approach to nanofiltration were the winning concepts presented at Rutgers on Feb. 2. Read more.
