For those of you planning to attend the Florida Classic Weekend in Orlando, I'd like to invite you to join me and the Florida Legislative Black Caucus for a number of free and important events that begin on Friday, November 20th at the FAMU College of Law (201 Beggs Avenue, Orlando, FL).
At Noon, we will hear from Mr. Harris Rosen, owner of the Rosen Hotels about how his foundation has helped transform the Tangelo Park section of Orlando and sent hundreds of children to college.
At 2:00 p.m., we will host a nationally taped, live panel discussion on race in Florida entitled "Journey to Justice" with Sheryl Underwood, Attorney Benjamin Crump and News Anchor Ed Gordon.
At 3:30 p.m., the Caucus will hold a workshop on the state of K-12 education in Florida with panelists from the Department of Education, public and private charter schools and the United Teachers Association.
Finally, at 4:00 p.m., I invite you to attend the College of Law's Hall of Fame Inaugural Portrait Unveiling honoring Tampa's own State Senator Arthenia Joyner.
You won't want to miss these workshops at the start of the Classic weekend.
