From 1910-1928 The North Jersey Rapid Transit Company Trolley line ran from Paterson to Suffern, traveling through Fair Lawn, Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus, Waldwick, Allendale, Ramsey, and Mahwah.
Using historic and current photos, Phil Jaeger will describe the company's operation and take us on a ride along the Bergen County route from the early 1900s.

Join us for an hour of chair yoga fun. Yoga Alliance Certified yoga instructor and occupational therapist, Pan He, will work with you on balance, strength, coordination and more. All levels welcome. Please visit the reference desk to borrow a laptop for use within the library. You must have a Glen Rock Library Card and valid I.D.  Teens may borrow a laptop with a signed permission form from a parent/guaridan.         
  Need an Easier Way to Read?
You may qualify for a FREE Audiobook Player if your reading is affected by a vision impairment, a physical impairment, or a reading disability.

If you think you may qualify, just ask a reference librarian and we will help you apply to become a member of The Talking Book and Braille Center of NJ. 

Membership includes a free audiobook player and audiobooks delivered to your home. Other materials include large print children's and young adult books, audiobooks for all ages, and more. 
END-OF-THE YEAR GIVING TO THE FRIENDS
                                                        
The Library is a place for everyone. Bergen County estimates that in 2014, libraries were the service used most by residents. Glen Rock is considered one of the smaller county libraries, yet it ranks as one of the busiest libraries in the system, with 74% of residents holding a library card.

As you begin to make your end-of-the-year donations, please consider putting the Friends of the Library on the top of your list. By making a donation to the Friends, the whole community benefits.

The impact of your donation is very real and very much appreciated. Monies raised help underwrite the popular Summer Reading Program and a variety of other events for all patrons. In addition these funds are used to enhance the collections of books, DVDs, CDs and other special materials.

 The Library will be close at 5:30pm on 
  Wednesday, November 25th. The Library
will be closed Thanksgiving Day. 
 
Glen Rock Public Library will have a delayed opening at 1pm on December 3rd for staff development .  The library will also be closed on Thursday, December 24th and Friday, December 25th for Christmas Eve and Christmas      Day!  Happy Holidays!
