Get in on the act!!!

KidsPlay, Inc. children's theatre will hold auditions for its fall production of  Paranormal High School by Andrew Ross from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11th for returning KidsPlayers and Thursday, August 13th for new actors.  Director Christine Schaefer is looking for boys and girls in the third through eighth grades to fill approximately 24 speaking parts and 12 openings for dancers.

The drama class at Bram Stoker High School, home of the Fighting Tarantulas, wants to perform Macbeth.  As they begin rehearsals, they scoff about the curse of the Scottish play, but strange things start happening in the theater thanks to the ghosts of two actors from the 1920s.  Paranormal investigators, eager for a "real" story, show up to hopefully document some ghostly hi-jinks to save their television show from getting the ax!  Meanwhile, unaware of the haunting happenings, the principal is hoping the drama program will help Bram Stoker High win a coveted education award.  The ghosts frighten the students into outstanding performances, and the paranormal investigators finally tape a hit episode.  With nods to Shakespeare and old theatre superstitions, this show has a variety of fun roles.

Prepared audition pieces of no more than two minutes are required for new auditioners and optional for returning auditioners.  It is also strongly suggested that all auditioners read the script.

Auditions will be held at the KidsPlay Dungeon on the lower level of the Memorial Building at 98 East North Street in Greenfield.  Performances are the weekend of November 6th, 7th and 8th at the HJ Ricks Centre for the Arts in downtown Greenfield, with a possible daytime matinee on Wednesday, November 4th.
