HUNDREDS COME TO COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR
On a beautiful Saturday, with just enough breeze to keep things cool, 52 non-profit and governmental agencies took the opportunity to participate in the Yuba-Sutter United Way's annual Community Resource Fair that was held May 16. And with help from the Early Risers Kiwanis Club and an anonymous donor, more than 600 people were fed hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings. . .Read More
FOOD AND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR DAY OF ACTION
Last year more than 12,000 pounds of non-perishable food was distributed following the Yuba-Sutter United Way's annual "Day of Action," and we hope to reach 15,000 pounds this year.
The first step is having people fill the more than 30 red barrels that have been placed throughout Yuba, Sutter and Colusa counties.
More than one in four Americans volunteer on a regular basis. Nationally, the economic value of that activity is estimated to approach $6 billion annually. Why do so many Americans give of their time and resources?...
