Dear Friends,

"The Kingdom of Heaven is like . . ."  Jesus knew how to tell stories.  His parables are stories that point the way to the biggest truths about God and His great love for us.  Children young and old are captivated by the parables, and they feature greatly in our Atrium: the Mustard Seed, Pearl of Great Price, The Leaven, are ones ours kids are familiar with.

This fall, we'll be introducing ones they and we may not be as familiar with: 

The Hidden Treasure (Matt 13:44), "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field;"

and the Growing Seed (Mark 4:26-29):

"The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground.27 He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. 

28 The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.29 But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."

What a joy it is to discover God's truths together with these children!

This Sunday, Aug. 9, we have atrium hours as usual:

9:15-10:15am - Level II (ages 6 and up)

10:15am to Offertory (ages 3-6; children are brought in as our gifts are offered at the Altar)
