From the Desk of Fr. Billy
Dear People of Resurrection, I come to you with exciting news. I want to let you all know that it looks highly probable that we will be hosting The Progress School on our campus for at least the next two years. This school is a charter school and uses alternative methods in education to help kids achieve academic success and learning. The goal is to have them move in the middle/end of July, so that they can be ready for school to start in the Fall. It has been a true joy working with the Bishop's Committee on this project, and we came to a collaborative decision during the process. The school people are excited and grateful for the space and will be a nice weekday addition to our community. While the school will have no religious affiliation with The Episcopal Church or any other denomination, it fits our mission as a congregation, to be a place where people make authentic connection and know they are loved by God and neighbor. I ask for your prayer and support, and I welcome any questions you may have about this decision. Yours truly, The Rev. Billy Tweedie Vicar to Episcopal Church of the Resurrection |
