I just got the word from Taunya Lay that we are almost to the 700 mark in registrations for Discover Santa 2016.  This is truly wonderful and I do want to thank all who are planning on joining us.

And if you registered and have not heard from Taunya, please call her office today.  Everyone who registered should have been contacted within 48 hours and your booking agreement is done in a few days after that.  Call Taunya if you have any problem.  (800) 432-4202.

By the way, I do understand that some folks are waiting until after the holidays, when their Christmas money is here, so they can register.  I know in my heart we are going to be well over 1,000 Santas and Mrs. Claus in Branson next July.

These weekly (well almost weekly) newsletters are may way of communicating to everyone all of the news regarding the convention.  And now there are two more ways that you can use to keep informed.

The first is our special Newsletter Archieves, located on the main web site.   All of the back issues of the newsletter are at: www.DiscoverSanta2016/Newsletters .

Your second source of information is the new Facebook Group.  Details are listed below.

Santacerely,

FACEBOOK GROUP PAGE IS NOW SET-UP

Do  you want to talk with others who are going to Discover Santa 2016?

Interested in knowing what others will wear to the Gala Dinner or in the Parade?   Want to share your experiences and photos from the original Discover Santa convention?

Well now you can.  You now have a special FACEBOOK Page where you and other convention attendees can send messages, chat and discuss the convention.

The Group page is:   DS2106 Convention

Looking to Share a ride or a room?  Maybe you want to discuss suggestions on workshops, or ask others when they are arriving in Branson?   This is your group page and where you can discuss anything regarding the convention or even your experience at the last convention.

Santas Steve Eastis and John Chilsom will be helping me Administer the Group.

NOTE:  This is not a group page to discuss politics, your personal business, or your plans for the coming holiday season. It is just to discussing the convention and any convention related subjects.  You can also post photos of what you plan to wear, what you are driving or bringing with you, and if you attended the 2006 Convention, we have an album where you can post some of your old convention photos.
WHAT SHOULD WE CALL OURSELVES?

Last week I asked everyone for their input on what name or term should we use for everyone coming to the convention.   Elks are Elks, Shriners are Shriners, Kiwanians are Kiwanians!   But we can't call everyone "Santa" as there are  the wives, family, helpers, etc.

I have been using the term "Kringles"  as it is simple, it is just one work and it applies to everyone.  But I also wanted to make sure I was not missing out on any other term or moniker that we might wish to use.

The responses were wonderful and I want to thank the thirty one Santas and Mrs. Claus who responded.  It was not unanimous, but one term or title got almosthalf of the votes.  But first I want to share some of the other suggestions:
  • Red Knights of the Rotund Table
  • Ambassadors
  • HollyJollys
  • Revelers
  • Christmaseers (like engineers.)
  • North Polians
  • North Polites (we are all polite.)
  • Jovials
  • NPDs - (North Pole Denizens )
Plus we had suggestions for "The Santas," "The Clauses,"  "Elves," and  "Santa's Helpers,"  Some of these terms could be used during the convention, but one needs to be our primary title.

But the largest vote came in for "Kringles"   It has been used for hundreds of years and it is a fitting way to recognize everyone from the Santas, to the Mrs. Claus, to family and all of the extended family of helpers, etc.  It truly is our "family" name.

So our thanks to all of the "Kringles" who helped in this little task
NEW REGISTRATION PACKAGES NOW AVAILABLE!

As of Today, we have new registration packages.  Our Early-Bird registration period ended yesterday.

The new packages are almost identical to the old packages, except the prices have gone up a little.  On the average, they are only about $50 more, per person.  The only variable is the package at the Chateau which has been upgraded to Lake View Rooms.

All new Chateau packages will have these rooms. If you got a room from the original package, you can also contact Taunya Lay, at Branson Ticket & Travel, to ask about upgrading to a Lake View Room.

You can view all of the packages on our web site and submit your registration at any time.

Once your registration form is received, Taunya will contact you.  Usually within 48 hours. She will review your registration and work with you in paying for your registration.  If you need, she can work with you in splitting up the payments.

We set up the convention registration knowing full-well that most of the convention attendees would be Seniors and those on controlled or limited income flow.  We do need an initial deposit of $500, but after that you can pay something monthly.  The balance needs to be paid by early spring.  I think it is in February.  Taunya will give you all the details.

By the way, deposits for those not needing a hotel room are much less.

Or Call Taunya at Branson Ticket & Travel 800-432-4202
