Dinner-for-Eight is here!

Dinner-for-Eight Q&A
Dinner for Eight
What is Dinner-for-Eight?
The purpose of Dinner-for-Eight is to provide opportunities to meet people in the congregation and get to know each other better. Dinner-for-Eight is for anyone out of high school and older. It is for those who are single, widowed, divorced or married. The emphasis is on fun and fellowship. You will be assigned to a group of approximately eight people..
How does it work?
You will dine with a different group on each Dinner-for-Eight date. There will NOT be a paper signup sheet in the hallway this year. You can register for October 24 below, or by contacting Nancy Harris Egel at (708) 415-7850 or at [email protected]
But I don't cook and my house is too small!
No worries! One person agrees to host the first meal. The host provides the main course, which can be something as simple as a pizza.  Guests bring the appetizer, salad and dessert.  The important part is to have time to socialize. Don't burden yourself preparing a fancy meal. That is not the intent.  If space limits you to dinner for less than 8, that is fine too.
Being a host sounds scary!
Again, no worries! As the host, you will have contact information for each person in your group. Call and arrange the gathering. You choose the type of meal. Keep it comfortable for you. Chances are it will then be comfortable for the group.
But we have kids at home...
This is one of those times when the kids are not part of the evening. It is important for all couples to have time away from their children to socialize with other adults and make those important connections. This is your time.

Our parish has been blessed with some wonderful young people who welcome the opportunity to babysit.  Contact information is available upon request.
How are the groups formed?
Groups are formed according to who signs up. We will attempt to have a mix of people. Diversity is important so we get to meet people we may not know and new friendships can be made.
Who do I contact with questions?
